Description:

"On The Loose" by Progressive Rock Group SAGA is one of the Greatest Rock songs of All Time. This song is from the Masterpiece album "Worlds Apart", which was produced by one of the Very Best in Rock Music, Rupert Hine. Twenty-six years later since its release, "On The Loose" still sounds ahead of its time. I don't think this song will ever age. SAGA has been making Great music for 30 years, as well as some of the Greatest album covers in Music History. Their sound is unlike any other Group I've ever heard. They have always had a very strong synthesizer and guitar sound, just like most other Progressive Rock Groups. But they've always been able to remain Original in sound, even as the times changed, that SAGA signature sound has always been there through the years. I've always thought SAGA's best album was "Worlds Apart" and their best song was "On The Loose." Until this song came out, I'd never felt so much energy from any song. "On the Loose" is an indescribable force of sound that grabs you and never lets you go. It's an all-out keyboard and guitar attack on your senses. Very few, if any, Rock Groups have been able to match this much energy and sound on any song. Leading the attack was Jim Gilmour on keyboards, clarinet, and vocals; Ian Crichton on guitar; Jim Crichton on bass guitar, synthesizer, and keyboards; Steve Negus on drums, electric drums, and percussion; and Michael Sadler on lead vocals and keyboards. Although you might not know their names, you'll never forget their sound. These are some of the Very Best musicians who ever played. Even though they may never get the recognition they deserve, every day new fans discover what I believe is one of the Greatest Rock Groups in History. Whenever there's talk of the Greatest Rock vocalists of All Time, Michael Sadler is never mentioned. If someone told me Michael Sadler is the Greatest Vocalist in Rock History, I don't know if I could name someone better. He's got a Tremendous voice. He can sing the lows and highs as well as anybody I've ever heard. When you hear that voice, you know it's him. That voice is very strong and distinctive. "On The Loose" showcases this man's vocal talent. Listen for yourself. Discover SAGA on your own and check out their Fantastic album covers. But for now, turn up the volume nice and loud and hear one of the Greatest Rock Groups who ever played. Listen and feel Sonic Fidelity. This is SAGA!

I wasn't going to upload this song or any of the others I did unless they sounded Incredible. A song like this Masterpiece attacks your senses and needs to be loud and clear. I'm glad you appreciate the quality. Thanks.

Great to hear this so clear. Truly one of the best songs of the 80s. Sounds as bold and fresh as it did back in high school. Like a runaway freight car - built by Rolls Royce. Best way to describe how this song has always sounded to me. Clean, urgent. Can't imagine the current crop of whining, plaintive artists clogging the VH1 countdown doing anything this unapologetically skillful. This song will outlast them all.

For years I thought this song was recorded by Jefferson Starship. I never know who Saga was until a few months ago. Great band, great sound...
