I think you witnessed someone using weed to deal with the overuse of a perception that drove them to try and find escape. It's never the drug that's the problem...its our perceptions and the perceptions we feel are forced upon us. In my own perception weed can cause damage to the mind, in those who can not comprehend the gateway that is opened.
