Description: A Honda Rebel motorcycle is converted to a zero emissions electric chopper. Made the Gomi way, with mostly found and scavenged materials, we make a street legal commuter bike perfect for San Francisco. |

valveheads ::: Favorites 2007-12-22 16:09:44 dose anyone know what sort of motor and how much horsepower it is __________________________________________________
andymarsh75 ::: Favorites 2007-12-13 08:12:28 I want one now!!! __________________________________________________
pereasanchez ::: Favorites 2007-11-30 00:19:48 chilo,chilo,chilo. ELECTRICO!!! QUE BIEN! __________________________________________________
yeahitstom ::: Favorites 2007-11-28 13:36:38 So if we did all switch to electric vehicles immediately we'd save a ton of money which could be used to fund research and development of more efficient batteries, solar panels, and electric motors to take us farther, charge quicker, last longer. Plus electric motors accelerate immediately so they're capable of performing much better than petrol or diesel engines. __________________________________________________
yeahitstom ::: Favorites 2007-11-28 13:36:24 Electric vehicles are much more efficient but still rely primarily on fossil fuels used by electric companies to generate it. Though as solar, battery, and electric motor technology increases we won't need fossil fuels to generate electricity. __________________________________________________
yeahitstom ::: Favorites 2007-11-28 13:16:42 Well that's not necessarily true, battery technology will get much better to last longer, charge faster or even immediately and weigh less. Also I hate it when people say electric vehicles are zero-mission, they're not, just significantly less emission, sure zero-emission directly from the vehicle but there are emissions from the electric company. As solar power technology improves we will have zero-emission vehicles with even greater efficiency. __________________________________________________
kmikze ::: Favorites 2007-11-20 10:26:39 do you know how much these batteries polute the environment when they are recycled?? even more than the petrol based engines... although it's a start, i hope these batteries will progress fast in a environment friendly recycling, before our environment will be fucked up very bad :D __________________________________________________
proto57 ::: Favorites 2007-11-18 23:29:48 But most electricity is generated from coal fired plants... so more electric vehicles means more pollution, not less. __________________________________________________
Redshift21 ::: Favorites 2007-11-16 20:48:28 Gotta say I thought cutting the swing arm was a bad idea, also they made an ugly bike even uglier __________________________________________________
linuxservices ::: Favorites 2007-11-14 08:37:28 hey jboritzki you have no idea what you're talkg about.. I am right now in Jakarta indonesia, you should see this.. I've been told that Beijing is even worst.. the smog creates a cloud that you can see from satellite cameras.. man, you need to travel a bit beyond your block we need these electric ideas everywhere, cos guess what, the air in Jakarta or Beijing recirculates and guess what? you may be breathing it! best regards. __________________________________________________
proutsos ::: Favorites 2007-11-07 16:49:59 lead batteries and grid electricity is not zero emissions, quite the opposite... __________________________________________________
Twistlock19 ::: Favorites 2007-10-09 22:41:00 Might be true in the case of the average US car. Anything with a carburettor for that matter. But a decent TDI Diesel does the trick! B.t.w. grid-power might be produced slightly more efficiently than power generated in small plants on site, but if you calculate the losses that occur in charging and self-discharging of any batterie, i doubt if the double change in energyform will still be more efficient than a diesel! __________________________________________________
2Shye ::: Favorites 2007-09-21 01:25:17 Its not just about emmissions. Electric motorbikes make far less noise and also run much cheaper than petrolium powered bikes. I would like to make 2 comments thought: 1) Lead Acid batteries are hardly environmentally friendly. If you used recyclable NIMH you would get far more power for your storage capacity and a far lighter bike. 2). Using brushless hub motors in the front and rear wheels would also give you more space inside the chassis. __________________________________________________
jboritzki ::: Favorites 2007-09-19 09:22:13 Why the hell would anyone worry about motorcycle emisions? There are not many motorcycles on the road compaired to cars and motorcycles do very well on gas the way they are. The great thing about electric vehicles is the lower cost to get from point A to point B. The world is not dying people. __________________________________________________ |
