Nope sure don't. The New B3 is a little too rich for my blood so I can imagine anywhere you go you'll spend around $20,000. The XK Traditional System is roughly $7500. That's for everything except a Leslie, which will be another $2000 unless you find one on Ebay.

The cheapest I have ever seen for sale is $22,150.00 for a new B3! Do you know any cheaper than that?

The problem with buying a vintage Hammond is you either have to know how to service them or know a local tech who can service them for you. Tech's are in very short supply and that will only get worse as time goes on. With the new Hammonds, you get the same great tone and you don't have to worry about the maintenance. Obviously there will be differing opinions but it just comes down to what's going to make you happy.

So would you recommend someone buying a new b3 or a older one?

I wasn't for sure myself either until I looked closer. It's definitely not a Diversi. That is, unless they've started making them with inverse preset keys on the left side of the organ and use off white keys. :)

IMHO, the new Hammond's sound just as good as the originals. Some would disagree. I play a Hammond C3/Leslie 122 combo every week and I use a Hammond XK3/Leslie 142 (short 122) at home. Personally I can't tell any difference in tone at all. On the XK3 and New B3, you can tweak pretty much everything, including the tonewheels themselves. So if you're not completely happy with the tone, tweaking those tonewheels can make all the difference in the world.

The New B3's (which is what Dennis is playing it looks like) are reproductions of the original B3 (B3 being a general term here for all the well known Hammonds) except everything is digital inside. There's nothing wrong with digital reproduction so long as the tone is EXACTLY like an old tube Hammond, which they have done both in the XK3 and New B3. But you really have to combine it with a tube driven Leslie otherwise you really lose the warm rich tone.
