Description:
**** Don't omit to read the update at the bottom of this text **** This is a rant against British Airways for their atrocious and offensive treatment of Nadia Eweida (full story can easily be obtained by googling her name). I cut my British Airways airmiles scheme card up on camera, as I have no plans to give an airline that does these things my custom. You could say that this is the video that puts the "cut" back into "Executive Club". If we allow corporations to decide that they are in possession of the souls of their employees and not allow them any badges of faith, then where will it end? Please join in the boycott of BA regardless of your religious belief. ****Update**** This information from Wikipedia shows that a number of the people commenting below, who claim to be working for BA and other airlines, clearly don't know what they are talking about, and effectively mean that we have won and no longer need to boycott BA: (start Wikipedia quote) "BA announced a partial climb-down on November 25, announcing a a review of its uniform policy which could allow the wearing of a lapel badge. This followed pressure from the Archbishop of Canterbury who disclosed that the issue had been raised with the Church Commissioners, who look after Anglicans' financial interests.[6] The following day Eweida declared that this compromise was unacceptable to her.[7] On November 28, Prime Minister Tony Blair publicly stated that in his view the issue was not worth BA fighting and that it would be best for the airline "just to do the sensible thing": i.e. allow the cross to be worn.[8][9] On January 19 2007 BA announced that they would in future allow employees to wear a symbol of faith "openly" on a lapel pin, "with some flexibility ... to wear a symbol of faith on a chain"." usenetposts ::: Favorites I think most airlines would not have behaved as badly as BA did. Many thanks for your comment, God bless. 07-07-14 18:28:45 _____________________________________________________
britishmummy ::: Favorites I think that BA overreacted. Dramatically. I'm a native of Britain who has flown numerous times on BA, but I am also a South African Airways flight attendant who wears a crucifix outside of my collar. SAA or passengers I have tended have NEVER caused me any unpleasantness because of my religion/jewelry selection. 07-07-14 18:26:41 _____________________________________________________
usenetposts ::: Favorites I didn't say anything hompohompic, or whatever you called it. 07-06-10 08:30:30 _____________________________________________________
