The source I got this from apparently has a problem with the audio encoding. I may post a another higher quality version sometime in the future. Thanks. The Revolution Will Not Be Televised [2/8] http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vs7MrBgc9sc Get it on DVD! http://www.venezuelasolidarity.org.uk/ "The Revolution Will Not Be Televised (a.k.a. Chavez: Inside the Coup) is a 2002 documentary about the April 2002 Venezuelan coup attempt which briefly deposed Venezuelan President Hugo Chávez. A television crew from Ireland's Radio Telifís Éireann happened to be recording a documentary about Chávez during the events of April 11, 2002. Shifting focus, they followed the events as they occurred. During their filming, the crew recorded images of the events that they say contradict explanations given by Chávez opposition, the private media, the US State Department, and then White House Press Secretary Ari Fleischer. The documentary says that the coup was the result of a conspiracy between various old guard and anti-Chávez factions within Venezuela and the United States. The film has won twelve awards at film festivals and has been nominated for another four. Although the documentary was not widely distributed, a number of groups are distributing copies and it is available on the internet. A Spanish language documentary, Venezuela Bolivariana: People and Struggle of the Fourth World War, covers much of the same subject and uses some footage from The Revolution Will Not Be Televised." This is one of the most beautiful documentaries I've seen. Chavez has inspired the apathetic to become interested in politics again and learn the country's constitution. That is the future right there...

Bush's been a shameful and hated world figure. Chavez promised to end the rule of the corrupt elite and abolish poverty. But in 8 years he's achieved unprecedented power, restricting media, undermined democracy; His economic policies have increased unemployment, inflation, deindustrialization, marginalization, corruption, inequality, social misery and criminality despite the billion dollars in oil revenues. WE NEED NEW LEADERS.

Venezuela like many countries throughout LatinAmerica have been ruled by a relatively small oligarchy that has owned almost all a countries resources since European imperialism/colonialsm. the US has propped up dictators, oligarchs, and death squads to protect its corporate interests. will things change? time will tell. Chavez has been elected multiple times, survived a coup backed by the US, and a recall attempt. people have a right to participate in the events of their own lives.

Everyone sees what he wants to see... can't you people tell the difference between bullshit propaganda, which this documentary is, and a serious investigative documentary like "Iraq for sale" for example?

Venezuela is not heading to a democratic kind of socialism, it is heading towards state capitalism or socialfascism. If Bush is the devil then Chavez is a leftist Bush... and history will prove it in the end...

The video dispels a Chavez suppression of the corrupted media. Based on that, accusing Chavez of media suppression would be a lie similar to calling the media "Unbiased or Liberal". Historically, it was the CIA that has influenced corruption and all things bad within all countries of U.S. corporate interests inorder to discredit foriegn leaders in attempts to turn the people of that country against a Government that was honestly serving its people.
